Crazy Days and a wee bit of the St. Patty's Day!

People hanging at one of the turns near the warming house on the hill
It was an 80's theme...I think she is a 'work-out' person?
Crazy Days!!! Amazing good time, it was like Spring break on a snowy mountain! We had really good weather too, the sun came out and the degrees were just where they needed to be. I mean hey, I was in my ski pants, long sleeved shirt and puffy vest and I was just fine! I might have had some liquid courage too but it was great!
Chris, Eric(cousin), Dewey, Katie, Rosa, and Larry(Chris's cousin) oh and myself made it to Boyne Mountain for the big festival. Most people refer to it as Crazy days but on the website its Carnival Days. We were located right off the main chair lift to the left and down one of the hills. We stayed on the Warming house, there were tons of people there, they had to have 'closed' the hill down because you couldn't ski through it. Rosa and Larry said that the amoutn of people was actually way down too!
Rosa, Chris's neighbor let us stay in his glorious house again, Thanks for that Rosa and big thanks for driving us home from the hill!
I fell a couple of times from some bad turns and icy spots but nothing too bad! The hardest part was drinking all afternoon at the warming house THEN trying to get down the hill! We all made it ok but nonetheless it wasn't the smartest thing to d, but I am planning on going again next year already!!!
You can check out some of my pictures BUT take note that some pictures are a TIT BIT 'x' rated if you catch my drift!!!!!

Sunday we took off for home, Chris, Eric and I went to Bay City to Levi(Chris's friend) St. Patricks Day party. Bay City had a HUGE parade. We watched it for a bit got really cold then Eric and I took off for home!
I went over to Britta's for some dinner and fun with the girls; Brit, Heather, Jenny, Dewey and Katie were there so we got to chat and hang a bit! Good times.

BIG NOTE HERE: HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY TODAY DEWBUTT!! Enjoy, I know you're at the bar right now!

My lentin promise is awry

Ok so when lovely lovely lent started on February 25th, also my little Tater Bugs birthday, I decided for the entire length of Lent to give up shopping. Now being a leinant Catholic that means for me that from Feb 25th through April 12th I can only go shopping on Sundays! :)
Ok I did ok I went shopping last sunday to the Meridian Mall but found absolutely NOTHING!!! But I did go look around. Well Tuesday I had to run into lovely Wal-Mart to get some supplies for a couple of lap quilts I was making. I had the intention of just getting my necessary supplies and leaving but the devil got into me and I shopped!!! :(
HOWEVER!!!! I am making two t-shirt quilts for charities to donate and raise money. One is for the Susan G. Komen race for the cure. I am still looking for t-shirts from past races if anyone has one or two that you are willing to donate please let me know!! And the other is for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life walks. I have those shirts all ready. So clearly by making these and donating them to charity this makes up for my penance!! :) Its a win-win!! And I am gonna put a plug in for my quilts check em out at: www.kraftykimmy.blogspot.com

Also, while I was online today I checked my email and my very good friend Vicki S. sent me an email about some wonderful deals they were having on bras so obviously I had to check them out and what do you know I shopped again!!!  But like I said before Penance is kicking in!!!

In closing for today, if anyone is interested in joining me and some of my family to walk in the Susan G. komen race for the cure walk please let me know I can send you the flier to signup or you can signup online. Let me know... k_spitz@yahoo.com

SHANTY DAYS 2009

A little late but better than never!!! So the weekend of February 20th - the 22nd, I was at Chris's for Shanty Days. A Fun wintery drunk time!! :) But to start off -yikes almost forgot!!!
Dad had his surgery on the 2oth! Total hip replacement surgery. Mom said that he came out of it jsut fine, minimal blood loss and instead of a 52(inch maybe??) hip the doc had to get a larger one-72!!! yeah thats a big jump!!! So he is doing just fine, mom brought him home Sunday and he used his walker but moved around like a champ!!!
Ok so for Shanty Days. Friday I drove up there with my cousin-Big E. We stopped off to see dad and mom at the hospital then away we went to Caseville. We got to Chris's settled in then Chris, Big E, Truck and I went to the bar in Caseville to meet up with Aunt Steph and Sherry nd some other people. Besides the waitresses being Skanky Bitches it was a nice time. MOVING ON!!!
Saturday Nick brought Katie up so I wasnt the only girl there Thank God!!! We got around a little late but oh well. We ate lunch at 1:00; it started to snow like dandruff flakes basically by 1:30 it was a full out blizzard!!! Crazy! We went to the beer tent about 3:00. The beer tent is the best part!! Good time bought a few tickets for beer but otherwise we brought in our own!!! Which is the best way to go. Katie and I had a great time!!! By 8:00 though it was time....time to go to the bar!!!!! Yah we left the bar around 1:30 and man were we done for the day!!!
Sunday we got up and had breakfast and headed for home. Great time!! Thanks Caseville! check out more pics here:http://picasaweb.google.com/Kimsinanutshell/ShantyDays2009?feat=directlink
I couldn't add a video dont know how to do that yet-but man were they hilarious! Lucky for me, Cody and Katie!

This past weekend we got a hotel room at the Portland hotel so we could use the pool! Me and my family were stir crazy for sure and so were Ben and Britta's kids, Amanda had her two kids out there and even Ryan and Alissa brought out their clan!!! It was fun but tiring having Barratt, Cayden and Damian jump at you then you help push them to the steps of the pool so they can do it all over again! But I wouldn't have traded it for anything. Now I just can't wait for Summer to swim all that much more!
Today, dad went to his doctors they took out his staples and gave him a great clearance-he can start using a cane, he can drive he can do it all. The doctor told him though that if he gets sore then he did too much and that he needed to rest but the old man is back on his way to getting outside and 'working' :)
Oh congrats to my cousin Jessy from St John's her cheerleading team made it to Regionals, they placed 7th!! Congrats Jessy!
AND one more thing...comgrats to Heather and Chris on expecting!
Now I am just looking forward to my busy schedule coming up ahead! Just gotta keep on keeping on!
